SAFETY MEASURES TO COMBAT THE SPREAD
OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

Dear Parishioners,

In compliance with the directives of Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay, and in keeping with the advisories issued by the local BMC and police authorities,
St Dominic Savio Church will implement the following safety measures to combat the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic (w.e.f. Friday, 20th March, 2020):

 * There will no Way of the Cross, meetings of groups & association, Lenten recollection / mission, Passover meal held in the Church premises till further notice.

* The Blessed Sacrament chapel will be closed until further notice;
the main church will be open everyday till 8:30 pm for those who wish to pray.

* On Sundays, the 7 am Konkani Mass will be moved to St Anthony’s chapel;
there will be a Tamil Mass at St Dominic Savio church at 6:45 am.

* The Cardinal has advised that all those above 60 years of age and those who are sick / having a weakened medical condition / having fever, cold and cough should not come for Mass since according to medical experts, these persons are more vulnerable.

Since we are not able to participate in the prayers and devotions at the church, we encourage individual families to come together to pray (Rosary, Way of the Cross, Bible sharing, etc.).

In faith, we place ourselves and our family members in the Lord’s caring hands, trusting in his abundant love and mercy. Let us also remember to pray for all those affected by this pandemic (sick persons, medical staff) and those working to stop its spread.

May the Lord be with us during these trying times.

– Fr Savio D’Souza sdb
(Parish Priest)
