  1. Today is the fifth Sunday of Lent. The parish priest will meet the parents of all the First Holy Communion children after the 9:15 am Mass.
  2. (On Saturday evening only) Tomorrow, 17 March, the Marathi Lenten recollection will be held in St Anthony’s Chapel, from 9 am to 4 pm. The Mass will be at 3 pm as the conclusion of the Lenten recollection. So there will be no Marathi Mass at 8:30 am.
  3. Tuesday, 19 March is the Solemnity of St. Joseph, husband of the BVM and patron of the Universal Church. The evening Mass at St Dominic Savio Church will be bilingual, in English and Marathi. The Way of the Cross after the evening Mass will be in Marathi as usual.
  4. Friday, 22 March has been declared by the CBCI as a ‘national day of fasting and prayer’ for the nation and the Church, keeping in mind the forthcoming general elections. We shall have a special ‘Holy Hour’ in our church from 5:15 to 6:15 pm during which we shall pray the Jericho Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Do come in large numbers! (The Way of the Cross will be held after the evening Mass, as usual.)
  5. Next Sunday (24 March) is Palm Sunday. There will be no distribution of palms at the anticipated Sunday Mass to be held on Saturday evening. At all the other Masses, palms will be distributed.
  6. Next Sunday, the Bombay Catholic Sabha in collaboration with Nair Hospital, is organizing a Blood Donation Drive in the parish hall in the morning. Those willing to donate blood, please give your names to your area leader or to any of the Bombay Catholic Sabha office bearers.
  7. The programs for Holy Week will soon be sent to you via WhatsApp on your SCC groups. The same will also be available in hard copy by the middle of this week.
  8. The offertory collection on 9-10 March was Rs. 26,668.
  9. Lenten Alms . . . Please put your contribution into the box. It goes to the Archdiocese.
  10. On account of major repairs that are being carried out in Antop Hill Church at CGS, the 11 am Sunday Mass is suspended until further notice. Parishioners from that sector are therefore expected to attend the 10:30 am Mass in Dominic Savio Church. A few elements of Hindi will be included in this Mass for their benefit.
